Retro Ball

About retroball.org

Retro Ball (retroball.org) is a small fan site for Retro Bowl, the pixel-art American football game by New Star Games. The site was rebuilt in September 2026 as a static site so that it loads fast, works on school Chromebooks and does not depend on a database or an outside game host to stay up.

The game is the point, so the rest of the site keeps to the same subject: a football shelf built around the 4th and Goal series and Retro Bowl College, sports games that play well on a keyboard, and a short list of arcade classics. Each one has its own page with a plain description, the controls and a couple of tips we learned by playing it.

How the games work

Retro Bowl is the HTML5 build of the game, hosted on retroball.org and running in your browser. Its save lives in your browser’s storage, which is why a career continues between visits on the same device. The other games are HTML5 builds embedded from the game host that serves our sites; they download only when you press Play, and nothing is installed.

Who writes the content

The descriptions, control guides, tips and answers on this site are written by the people who run it, after playing the games. Where we describe a mechanic, it is because we have used it. If something we have written is wrong, tell us through the contact page and we will fix it.

Ownership and rights

Retro Bowl was created by New Star Games and belongs to them. Retro Ball is an independent fan site and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by New Star Games. All other games remain the property of their respective developers and publishers. If you own a game listed here and want it removed, get in touch and we will take it down.
